HELMCA | Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association
Τhe Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association (HELMCA) was founded in 2002 and is a non-profit organization, bringing together composers and sound artists who engage in the creative use of music technology and with their work explore and produce within a wide spectrum of musical approaches and idioms of sonic art. The main aim of HELMCA is to strengthen the collaboration and solidarity among its members and to promote electroacoustic music in Greece and abroad. HELMCA's activities focus on communicating and exchanging information as well as organising festivals, concerts, conferences, seminars, and workshops. The Electroacoustic Music Days festival, held annually, is the association's most important event where members meet, exchange ideas and present their latest work in a series of concerts. It has been held continuously since 2002 and is one of the longest-running electroacoustic music festivals internationally. Since 2006, HELMCA has been a member and actively participates in the events of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (CIME/ICEM).
